BDSM & D/s

Welcome to the BDSM and D/s Resource Section of a slaves heart.

Dominants and slaves

For life is the mirror of king and slave,
'Tis just what we are and do;
Then give to the world the best you have,
And the best will come back to you.

Madeline Bridges (1844-1920)

BDSM stands for "bondage and discipline, domination and submission, and sadism and masochism"and describes a form of human sexual behaviour involving amongst other things sexual sado-masochism in a context that is sometimes referred to as SSC (safe, sane and consensual) though others prefer Risk Aware Consensual Kink. That is to say, BDSM is not sexual abuse, which is non-consensual.

Terminology

BDSM activities are described as "play" in BDSM terminology. The BDSM term is a portmanteau acronym intended to take in all of the following activities:

  • "Bondage and Discipline" play (B & D)
  • Domination_and_Submission and Submission play (D & S) (including "master and slave" role-playing scenarios)
  • Sadomasochism (S & M)

Some BDSM terminology:

  • top
  • bottom
  • submissive (sub)
  • dominant (dom) (also dominatrix)
  • switch
  • safeword
  • fetishism
  • paraphilia
  • edgeplay
  • handkerchief codes
  • servitude
  • Risk-aware consensual kink - Risk Aware Consensual Kink
  • SSC - Safe, Sane and Consensual

Note that it's common to begin dominant terms with an upper case, for example: Top, Master, Dom etc'.
